From idea to prototype
Creating a board game is an exciting process, and it all begins with a spark: a simple idea. But how does that idea become a tangible, playable, and fun prototype?
At The Game Production, we follow a rigorous creative process. The first step is the concept. We define the universe, the goal of the game, the target players, and the core mechanics. Is it a bluffing game? A strategy game? A cooperative game?
Once the concept is validated, we move on to creating the prototype. The goal is not perfection, but functionality. We use simple materials like cardboard, wooden tokens, or plain cards to bring our idea to life. At this stage, we aim to test and validate the game mechanics to ensure the experience is both smooth and fun. This is the stage where the game takes its first shape, where the rules become clearer, and where we begin to see its full potential.
This process allows us to test and iterate quickly, turning an abstract idea into a concrete version ready for the first play sessions.
